Trout Brothers isn’t just a name—it’s a tradition of quality seafood that spans generations. Founded on the values of freshness, family, and exceptional service, our story began with Steve Trout in 1991. With dedication and heart, Steve built a reputation for delivering the finest seafood across the region, earning the trust of chefs, markets, and families alike.

But the Trout family legacy runs even deeper.

Trout’s Market, a beloved family-run grocery store on Main Street in Woodsboro, was established in 1943 by Nelson Trout, John’s grandfather. It became a local staple—known for friendly service and fresh goods—laying the foundation for the family’s passion for food and community.

John Trout, Nelson’s son and John’s father, proudly continued that legacy. He ran Trout’s Market with the same work ethic and commitment to quality, eventually passing the torch to his son, John Trout, before the market was later sold.

Today, that spirit lives on through Devin Trout (right), Steve’s son, and John Trout (left), Big John’s namesake and the force behind Trout’s House Seafood in Deep Creek Lake. Together, they carry forward the Trout family tradition—bringing premium seafood, strong Maryland roots, and a shared passion for excellence to every order.
